Having moved with her family to Georgetown from California in 2010, Rae is an essential member of Sutra’s team. Whether she is expertly juggling the phone and booking appointments, thoughtfully attending to our guests’ needs, or quietly taking care of the myriad tasks that pop up throughout the day, Rae is the glue that holds the team together. Always cheerful, Rae will go above and beyond to make sure you have the best, most relaxing experience possible here at Sutra.

I am a graduate of Paul Mitchell The School Lexington where I was involved in the Phase II Honors Program, Student Council, Mentor Program and the ‘GO Green ‘ Team. My passion is hair color. I have more than twenty years experience in all phases of color design and application, specializing in multi-dimensional highlights and creative block color. I love people and love making them feel both important and valued. I find beauty in everyone and have discovered that in this industry I am able to impact lives in a much more meaningful way than I had ever thought possible.
As a passionate organic gardener and environmentalist, I was naturally drawn to Aveda and to Sutra Salon. I have found a culture that fits my values and personality like a glove. I am actively working to build clientele and pursue my goals of becoming an educator; first as an Aveda Salon Coach then as an Aveda Purefessional. I love teaching people about things that will improve their lives and help our planet. I have found an amazing place to do that at Sutra Salon.
Tracy Shryer – Master Stylist
Originally from California, I was studying Theatre Arts in college when I discovered my passion for hair and make-up. After completing 2000 hours of study at The Salon Professional Academy in Montana, I received my cosmetology license in 2008. I enjoy being able to brighten someone’s day with a new cut or color. I feel your hair can make or break your mood for a day, and I love to be the person to turn your day around.
Terese Wright – Master Stylist
I have been cutting hair for over 18 years. Originally acquiring my cosmetology license from Barrett & Co. School of Hair Design in Nicholasville, Kentucky, I also attended the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota where I specialized in advanced hair cutting and color. Altogether I have had over 8 years of experience with Aveda. While I am certified in other color systems as well, my clients and I seem to best enjoy the level of color achieved with the Aveda color system. I love to do an all over start-to-finish new look for a client, focusing on your individual color placement as well as your precision hair cut to bring out the best of your new look and you. Having known Jennifer (the owner of Sutra Salon & Spa) for over 13 years, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to work with her in an Aveda Concept salon when she opened Sutra. I feel very blessed to have the career that I have.
Mindy King – Esthetician and Nail Technician
Having been certified by the Bluegrass Community and Technical College as a Nail Technician and Esthetician in the early 90s, I have been focusing on skin and nail care for almost 20 years. Shortly after receiving certification by BCTC, I also graduated from the Chi School of Massage in Lexington. My specialty is a pedicure that incorporates reflexology into the relaxation technique used while focusing on the health of your nails and feet as they correspond to the whole body. Whether you’re suffering from a medically related foot problem or a more simple foot ailment, I can help you feel immensely better. Getting to know so many people and helping them feel better while assisting with health challenges are the two things that make me love my job.
